You know what i've notice, I HAVE A VERY LONG NECK LIKE A GIRAFFE. And now thinking of decapitating my head to shorten it because oooh i would love to be perfect like those celebrities on TV. Yeah right! Im so sick of people trying to change what they got all the time. Many filipinos want to have light skin on the contrary, American women trying to tan as hell. I asked, what's wrong with dark skin or a light skin? Many people either tries too hard to lessen something from their body or add stuff to achieve perfection. I believe this issue of insecurity is done by the mainstream we're currently drawn into. We see all of these perfect celebrities, models, TV personels all the time and think that just because their physic seems like the basis of how a person should look like, we go on (or some of us) trying to achieve the "look".
Ironically, i passed by Tyra Bank's yahoo question the other day "What can we do to help girls with low-self-esteem?" She got mixed answers, from people giving her advices and rebels contradicting her shows, both America's Next Top Model & Tyra Bank Show. I agree to the later; she might've been celebrating all sorts of women, from skinny to the "more-to-love" but it seemed when i watched an episode of it (large women), she wasnt as though serious about it at all. Its very ironic how she's asking the question when she herself, with the petite body that she have, makes women/girls alot insecure than they already are. I've heard she wasnt as "charmingly perfect" back on her teenage years so she must know how to deal with low-self-esteems, right? But wait! She was a model, duhr. It's so hard to think that she understand what girls like me with low-self-esteem is going through. And if she were asking that to actually help girls, good for her. After all, she's an icon now, not as infamous as Ms. Hilton, but still, she could actually make a difference. (by first cancelling ANTM? lol)
I say love what you got because when you try hard to look like perfect little missy, the world would lack diversity. Dont sweat looking like the mainstream, never let peers get the better of you (haha friend quote) and whatever happens, be true to yourself. Do you really need to be light skinned? Hmm, no. Either way, dark & light skin's fuckin H O T.
